Heat Pumps are ideal for Central Heating, Hot Water, Air Conditioning and comfort cooling
Air Source Heat pumps are capable of cutting heating oil bills by more than 50%

Air Source Heat Pumps

Intelligent Energy Solutions supply and install 2 types of heat pump

  • Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • Air Source Heat Pumps

Heat pumps take heat from one location, upgrade the heat and then use this to heat water. This can then provide a total heating solution throughout the year for both homes and commercial premises.

Ground source heat pumps are very effective but require a relatively large amount of ground and a reasonable capital investment on works. Air source heat pumps do not need this as they extract heat from the air rather than the ground.

Air source heat pumps can provide heat for the following:-

  • Under floor Heating
  • Standard Radiators
  • Domestic Hot Water
  • Skirting board radiators

This heating system usually consists of a heat exchanger on an outside wall. This outdoor unit looks much like a typical air conditioning system.

They can operate at more than 3 times the efficiency of conventional heating systems and as a result help to minimise Co2 emissions and reduce the heating costs of your property..
This type of pump works all year round even when the temperature outside is below freezing. The heat generated can also be used to heat your swimming pool.

Air Source Heat Pump Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

The government has outlined a new incentive scheme for heat generating renewables, this is a world first for this type of technology. Previously supplementary tariffs were reserved only for electricity generating technologies.

The new incentive is currently in consultation and is planned to come into law in April 2011. The scheme outlines a payment of 7.5p/kwh. For a typical home this will equate to a payment of around £1275 per year, tax free. This is in addition to the energy savings made in your home due to the heat pump.

Found the product? Now find the right installer...

When installing quality equipment, it is vital that the installer meets a similar standard. When Intelligent Energy Solutions install an Ecodan system we make sure that not only the system is installed to the highest standards but the complimentary equipment is also high quality and installed properly.

For instance, we normally install the system with a high performance un-vented copper cylinder (hot water storage tank). Un-vented copper cylinders give all the benefits of high pressure hot water with improved heating recovery times, improved anti-bacterial performance and reduced maintenance when compared to stainless steel storage cylinders.

We also use an advanced controller that not only controls the room temperature when the system is on but also controls the room temperature at night and modifies how early the system needs to turn on to reach your target temperature at different times of the year.

Intelligent Energy Solutions have three branches that cover the whole of England and Wales. These branches are based in Loughborough near Leicester in Leicestershire, Leeds, West Yorkshire and in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. This means that we are geographically close to Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements.
