Renewable Heat Premium (RHP)
The Renewable Heat Premium (RHP) for domestic homes was confirmed for solar thermal and heat pump systems in July 2011. Unlike heat pumps, solar water heating installations are eligable for the RHP even if the properties main heating fuel is mains gas. Therefore all intelligent Energy Solutions are eligible so long as the home owner has taken basic energy saving measures such as cavity walls and lofts are insulated.

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)The RHP has been introduced in advance of the long anticipated Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The RHI is intended to lead the world by being the first scheme that pays system owners for producing heat from a renewable source. The most recent scheme outline talked about making a payment of 18p per kWh for heat generated. This would lead to a payment of around £250 per year for a typical installation. This is on top of significant fuel cost savings.
