Air source heat pumps extract heat from the air outside and using a sophisticated compression cycle, upgrade the heat to usable temperatures that can heat your home and hot water.
An air source heat pump installation typically consists of an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor hot water storage cylinder and some controls and circulation pumps.
The outdoor unit looks much like a typical air conditioning system. Our air source heat pumps are much lower in cost and simpler to install than our equivalent ground source heat pump systems.
Our air source heat pumps can provide heat for the following:-
- Under floor Heating
- Standard Radiators
- Domestic Hot Water
- Skirting board radiators
They operate at more than 3 times the efficiency of conventional heating systems and as a result help to minimise Co2 emissions and reduce the heating costs of your property.
This type of pump works all year round even when the temperature outside is below freezing. The heat generated can also be used to heat your swimming pool.
Customer Review Air Source Heat PumpReviewed by Mark Bradley on

Excellent Communication The company installed an air source heat pump system in the summer of 2010. They gave clear advice and included everything we needed in their quotation unlike some competitors. The installation took place on the agreed dates and communication with the company was excellent. The system has been keeping us warm over Christmas 2010 even when local night time temperature dropped to around -18c. Current indications are that we will save over £1,000 per year on our energy cost compared to the previous LPG system. Overall a great investment.

Installation Quality of Air Source Heat Pumps
When installing quality equipment, it is vital that the
installer meets a similar standard. When Intelligent Energy Solutions install
an air source heat pump system we ensure that, not only the system is installed to the
highest standards, but the ancillary equipment is of similarly high quality and correctly installed.
For instance, we normally install the system with a high
performance un-vented copper cylinder (hot water storage tank). Un-vented
copper cylinders give all the benefits of high pressure hot water with improved
heating recovery times, improved anti-bacterial performance and reduced
maintenance when compared to stainless steel storage cylinders.
We also use an advanced controller that not only controls
the room temperature when the system is on but also controls the room
temperature at night and modifies how early the system needs to be turned on, to
reach your target temperature at different times of the year. This enables our air source heat pumps to run at maximum efficiency.
It is critical that your property and requirements are properly assessed if your air source heat pump installation is to operate effectively. Call
Intelligent Energy Solutions now to discuss your requirements with one of our energy specialists on 0800 779 7710.
