Biomass Maintenance Requirements

It is important to keep biomass boilers clean, this involves the regular removal of ash.  The actual quantities of ash are relatively low and this is likely to be something that needs to be done every few weeks (depending on the season).

Depending on the system we specify there may be a self cleaning cycle built in.  This process automatically cleans the ash collection area (including the grate and heat exchanger).  Failure to clean out ash will impact on the boiler function and efficiency.

We would recommend that all systems are inspected annually, this visit can also include a service of any unvented cylinders (which is a requirement by law).
