RHI Finally Launched for Domestic Homes

RHI Finally Launched for Domestic Homes

Published on 09/04/2014

After long last the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is here. The Government announced yesterday that the RHI is now open for applications.

The scheme will pay £1000's for domestic heat pump, solar thermal and biomass installations over 7 years.

With the scheme finally confirmed the industry is set to boom. You can find out more about the scheme here:-

https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/environmental-programmes/domestic-renewable-heat-incentive

The rates are as follows:-
  • Air Source Heat Pumps - 7.3p/kWh - more than £750 per year
  • Ground Source Heat Pumps - 18.8p/kWh - more than £2000 per year
  • Biomass Boilers - 12.2p/kWh - more than £1950 per year
  • Solar Thermal - 19.2p/kWh - more than £230 per year
Annual payment predictions are based upon an average family home, subject to insulation levels. Larger homes will benefit from more generous payments.

Don't delay!
If you are looking to get your heating installation completed over the summer months, don't delay. Our summer schedule will rapidly fill up now that the RHI has been launched.

Previous Customers - Legacy Systems
If you already have a system installed by IES then you may well be eligible for this new payment (most heat pump and solar thermal installations since 15th July 2009). We will be writing to you shortly with instructions about how you should proceed. We would advise that you wait until we have fully digested the scheme details before you apply, as a premature application could result in incorrect payments.

If you want to take advantage of the RHI or would just like some more advice, don’t hesitate to call the sales team on 01624 223122 or email sales at iesolutions.com.
