HOT TIP
Wind Turbines |
|
---|---|
Wind has been a source of clean energy for centuries. Wind was once used by windmills to grind corn or pump water. Today, turbines allow us to generate our own electricity. The systems can either supplement your existing electricity supply or be designed to provide a sole source of electricity for suitable equipment. The windier the turbine's position, the more free electricity you will be able to generate. Our trained consultant will be able to survey your property and help you take full advantage of its energy potential. As an example of output, a well positioned 15kW turbine will generate between 30,000 and 35,000 kWh of electricity per year. 1 unit of electricity is equal to 1 kilowatt hour (kWh). Wind speed is an important element in evaluated the effectiveness of a wind turbine in your location. You can find out your wind speed using the national wind speed database. Exported Electricity & the FITOnce the system is installed, the
electricity generated will automatically be used in your home/premises.
If more electricity is being generated than is being used then the
surplus is exported back onto the national grid. The Government's feed
in tariff will pay 26.7p/kWh for turbines up to 15kW. These improvements
to the export tariffs mean that the payback for multi kW wind turbines
is becoming more speedy. Payback is often significantly less
than 10 years. |
